With
the support of the European Community, medien_kunst_netz
dortmund has launched a research project comprising various
case studies dealing with questions of the production, presentation
and preservation of media art.
Co-operation partners include the Netherlands Media Art Institute,
Montevideo/TBA
in Amsterdam, the Center
for Culture & Communication, C3,
in Budapest, and the Stuttgart based art historian Hans
Dieter Huber.
The congress "404 Object Not Found: What remains of media
art?", taking place from 19 - 22 June in Dortmund, is the
(provisional) conclusion and public platform of the project.
The congress encompasses lectures, panel discussions and study
groups. In addition to presenting the case studies, international
experts are invited to present their experience, strategies
and current projects in the field of media art.
A
special <web site> of the project/congress will soon be
online.
At this site you will find already
<information> concerning the research project, the case
studies as well as the idea of the congress.
Furthermore we have compiled various
<Links> referring
to the different issues of the project, a list, which will be
updated regularly.
We
would be very pleased to include your hints.
